As a Clinical Pathology Technical Lead, you will be entrusted with ensuring the efficient and high-performing operation of the laboratory. This role is critical to maintaining the highest standards of diagnostic excellence while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. You will lead a team of skilled professionals, ensuring the efficiency of daily operations and that every process guarantees accurate, timely, and reliable results. Your leadership will drive the progress of others, while your oversight ensures the laboratory remains a trusted pillar of clinical quality.

To be considered for this position, you must hold a relevant qualification or certification in Medical Technology and be registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). These credentials are essential to meet the professional and regulatory standards expected in this leadership role. You will bring at least three years of hands-on experience as a Medical Technologist, Medical Technician, or Medical Laboratory Scientist in a pathology laboratory. Your background reflects a solid foundation in laboratory operations, and you are ready to take on a role where your experience will impact both people and processes.
Skill Requirements
You possess advanced knowledge of pathology testing procedures, instrumentation, and methodologies. Your theoretical knowledge is complemented by a practical understanding of HPCS, SANAS, and occupational health regulations. You are comfortable using systems such as Meditech and Microsoft Office and understand the importance of compliance with labor laws. In addition to your technical skills, you are a competent leader in people management: you motivate, develop, and guide your team to perform at their best. Your ability to manage budgets and resources reinforces your leadership.
