Registered Nurse | Trauma Experience

Introduction

We are seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in the Emergency Department at Life Entabeni Hospital, reporting to the Unit Manager. The successful candidate will provide and coordinate evidence-based clinical practices and resources efficiently to achieve the company’s strategic objectives: Growth, Efficiency, Quality, and Sustainability.

Effective clinical skills for business growth

Effective personnel management: interaction and communication with a multidisciplinary team.

  • Optimal and efficient use of resources according to agreed budget parameters.
  • Optimal and appropriate use of products, including pharmaceuticals, equipment, and miscellaneous items.
  • Management of all stock used according to unit-specific policies and protocols.
  • Control and management of working hours in accordance with company policy.

Effective clinical skills to provide the highest quality healthcare, compared to international quality and safety standards. • Participation in achieving performance objectives related to Patient Experience, Clinical Practice, and Safety (Patient and Employee).

  • Ensuring that quality management systems and initiatives are implemented in accordance with company policy.
  • Promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Applying infection prevention principles according to company policy.

Sustainability: Participating in collaborative and motivating team dynamics (with internal and external stakeholders).

  • Building lasting partnerships with our clients to promote LHC as the hospital of choice.

Requirements

  • Registration with the South African Council of Nurses (SANC) as a Registered Nurse is mandatory.
  • Midwifery qualification is mandatory.
  • Compliance with the SANC Scope of Practice for Registered Nurses and all applicable health legislation. • 1 year of experience in an Emergency Department after graduation.
  • A 6-month trauma course will be considered an asset.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification will be considered an asset.
  • Participation and collaboration with all team members to foster and develop a healthy and positive work environment that actively promotes a shared, values-based performance culture.
  • Effective leadership skills, including highly developed communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, labor relations, regulations, codes, ethics, and competency standards. • Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of pathophysiology, anatomy, and diseases relevant to providing optimal, comprehensive care. Competencies
