Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Bank Administrator for its head office in Midrand. The successful candidate will be responsible for recording all supplier payments in the banking systems, following Dis-Chem’s standard operating procedures, and maintaining an accurate data recording system.
Minimum Requirements…
Required:
- High School Diploma
- 2-3 years of experience in fixed assets and banking systems
Preferred: - Experience with SAP
- Relevant accounting qualification
Job Specifications…
Bank Administration:
- Accurately record all bank payments.
- Verify the accounts of all new beneficiaries and report any discrepancies to management.
- Ensure new beneficiaries are correctly registered in the banking system, in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Fixed Asset Functions:
- When assets are paid for using petty cash, transfer the asset from the Asset Control account to the corresponding asset account (ABSO).
- Accurately record deposit and final payment invoices in the appropriate vendor account within the established timeframe.
- Once final payment invoices are recorded in the vendor account, transfer the deposits to the actual assets.
- When recording intercompany asset invoices in vendor accounts, complete the asset transfer to the appropriate company.
- Back up assets to safeguard information.
- Ensure the Asset Control account is closed according to standard operating procedures.
- Ensure depreciation calculations are completed before the established deadlines.
Inventory Records:
- Maintain perpetual inventory records by collecting inventory data, completing required forms/records, and entering, deleting, and correcting inventory.
• Reconcile all company codes and fixed asset records with the General Ledger.
- Print all relevant documents for reconciling cost and accumulated depreciation with the General Ledger.
Customer Service: - Ensure frequent communication, both verbal and written, with staff and vendors regarding batch uploads to the banking system.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients.
Skills…
Essential:
- Knowledge of fixed assets and banking software
- Fluent English (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Strong understanding of financial accounting
- Reliable, honest, accurate, diligent, and detail-oriented
- Ability to identify and solve problems
- Ability to plan and prioritize tasks
- Excellent time management skills
- Self-motivated
Advantageous:
- Experience with banking systems
- Fluent in a second language
