Dis-Chem Pharmacies is offering an opportunity for a Payroll Administrator in Midrand. The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively managing payroll functions in accordance with Dis-Chem’s business requirements and strategic operations. They will be responsible for maintaining employee records in the appropriate systems and ensuring their absolute confidentiality.

Minimum Requirements

Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Minimum of 1-2 years of payroll experience

Preferred:

Previous experience with SAP Payroll

Job Description:

Assist in the maintenance, auditing, and updating of all personnel records.

Comply with Dis-Chem’s payroll policies and standard operating procedures when performing tasks.

Accurately record all hours worked in the SAP Payroll system.

Ensure you receive all relevant documentation from the Recruitment team when onboarding new employees to SAP.

Ensure all employee terminations are recorded in SAP and that their salaries are adjusted according to the termination documentation to guarantee correct payment.

Ensure all job and department changes are recorded upon receipt of the relevant documentation and with the necessary signatures.

Ensure that the pension fund, health insurance, and any other relevant documentation are managed according to Dis-Chem’s standard operating procedures and that employee information is correctly recorded in SAP before being submitted to third parties.

Accurately record employee absences according to the forms received and correct any absences as needed.

Ensure employees receive their paychecks within a reasonable timeframe.

Follow up with stores regarding any outstanding or incorrect documents that need to be processed.

Report any discrepancies related to systems, documentation, or hours worked to management and take appropriate action.

Handle assigned emergency calls daily to ensure that issues or concerns are resolved as quickly and cost-effectively as possible.

Escalate unresolved issues or concerns to management to facilitate the problem-solving process.

Assist employees with any payroll-related inquiries and, if necessary, escalate them to the appropriate individuals or management.

Comply with Dis-Chem’s standard operating procedures and policies.

Comply with health and safety regulations.

Competencies:

Required:

Knowledge of SAP Payroll and tax calculations.

Ability to identify solutions to potential problems and know when and at what level to escalate them.

Understand basic arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Communicate ideas and facts verbally.

Respond to customer inquiries promptly.

Recognize the need for procedures and follow them.

Maintain confidentiality and fulfill commitments. Comply with the organization’s policies and procedures.

Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint and Outlook) SAP Payroll

Special Employment Requirements:

Resident of South Africa

Minor International Equity (MIE), no criminal or credit history

Driver’s license and own vehicle
