Your Role

As a medical oncologist, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered cancer care, adapting your clinical practice to the realities of a humanitarian context.

Your responsibilities will include: evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with suspected or confirmed cancer; developing and overseeing appropriate cancer treatment plans, including chemotherapy, supportive care, and palliative care; managing cancer emergencies, treatment complications, and complex clinical presentations; collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals; contributing to the development and strengthening of practical cancer care protocols adapted to available resources; ensuring appropriate referral and continuity of care for patients requiring tests or treatments not available within the project; mentoring, supervising, and training local healthcare professionals, sharing your knowledge and clinical experience; and contributing to clinical guidelines, protocols, standard operating procedures, audits, and quality improvement initiatives. Provide empathetic counseling and education to patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and palliative care. Identify gaps in cancer services and collaborate with MSF teams to improve access, quality, and continuity of care. Maintain accurate, confidential, and high-quality clinical documentation. We are looking for an experienced oncology professional who combines strong clinical skills with adaptability, compassion, leadership, and a firm commitment to humanitarian medicine.

You must have: Specialized training and experience in oncology. Sound clinical judgment and the ability to work independently when necessary. Experience managing complex cancer patients and treatment-related complications. The ability to adapt clinical practice to settings where resources, diagnostic tests, and treatment options may be limited. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working in multidisciplinary teams. A genuine interest in teaching, mentoring, and building local healthcare capacity. A patient-centered approach and a commitment to medical ethics and professional standards.
