Pharmacist | Fixed-Term Contract
Function: Pharmacy | Center: Life Entabeni Hospital | Position: Pharmacist | Fixed-Term Contract | Introduction
We are seeking a pharmacist (fixed-term contract) for Life Entabeni Hospital for a period of 6 months, under the supervision of Alison Rich, Senior Pharmacist. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the required standards are met regarding the quality of pharmacy services, financial targets, compliance with legislation, and staff management.
Key Results
Effective medication safety management
Report 100% of medication-related incidents and develop and implement appropriate corrective actions.
Report 100% of pharmacy alerts, develop and implement corrective actions, and conduct a quarterly trend analysis.
Effective Quality Management Systems
Participate in the implementation and compliance with the quality management systems of Life Entabeni Hospital.
Ensure compliance with the legal and professional standards of the SAPC, the Department of Health, and Life Entabeni Hospital.
Participate in achieving the required customer service levels in operating rooms and inpatient wards.
Implement customer satisfaction and pharmaceutical quality initiatives.
Effective Financial Management
Participate in achieving the hospital’s budgeted financial targets related to pharmacy.
Effective Product Management
Participate in the active management of the cost of sales of pharmaceutical products in accordance with revenue and budget.
Establish effective working relationships with physicians.
Effective Asset Management
Participate in achieving inventory targets.
Achieve optimal system utilization.
Effective Personnel Management
Participate in pharmacy and pharmacy assistant internship programs, as applicable.
Requirements
Pharmacy degree / Diploma in Pharmacy / Bachelor of Pharmacy
Knowledge and clinical experience relevant to critical outcomes
Current registration with the South African Pharmaceutical Council
Understanding of the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector, legislation, regulations, and related challenges
Knowledge of pharmaceutical legislation
Knowledge of pharmaceutical products
Proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Office)
2-3 years of experience in private hospitals is a plus
