Position: Clinical Training Coordinator | Qualified/Experienced
Introduction
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Clinical Training Coordinator for Life Peglerae Hospital, who will report to Jacques Smith, Chief Nursing Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of quality and training within the hospital complex.
Key Results
Effective management of continuing professional development (CPD) and other programs for qualified nurses.
Planning, coordinating, and participating in the hospital’s nursing competency requirements and nursing function strategy.
Providing training and mentoring to staff to ensure clinical competence.
Effective management of risk-based in-service training programs (including quality assurance).
Planning, coordinating, and monitoring risk-based in-service training programs.
Participate in incident investigations.
Participate in hospital quality projects, provide feedback, identify deviations, and take corrective action when necessary.
Identify risks and assess product proficiency through on-the-job training.
Effectively manage approved internal and external clinical programs for students (planning, facilitation, and evaluation).
Participate in the selection process for internal and external students.
Ensure the proper management of administration and resources for students.
Identify relevant learning opportunities and facilitate the development of clinical skills.
Provide feedback on student progress to both the Learning Center and the Department Head.
Support students in their research projects within the hospital. Environment

Identify and formulate an action plan to address problems in clinical service delivery
Effective marketing of the nursing profession
Participate in promoting the professional image of nursing
Participate in marketing initiatives with students and training centers to promote nursing as a career
Participate with students in community events to promote the hospital
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in nursing
Postgraduate degree in Intensive Care/Perioperative Nursing (advantageous)
Postgraduate degree in Nursing Education (advantageous)
Current registration with the South African Council of Nurses (SANC) and accreditation as an Assessor/Moderator (SANC) (advantageous)
Professional nursing experience after registration in a relevant healthcare setting
Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership
Specific knowledge and understanding of legislation governing nursing practice
Knowledge of the systems Nursing training and legislation
Understanding of change management principles
Facilitation and assessment skills
Computer proficiency
