Group Reporting Accountant (CA(SA))
Introduction
We are seeking a Group Reporting Accountant for Life Healthcare’s head office in Dunkeld. The successful candidate will report to the Legal Reporting Manager and will be responsible for providing accurate and timely monthly financial reports to all stakeholders, in accordance with IFRS, as well as contributing strong financial expertise to the Group’s analysis and management reporting.
Critical Results
- Prepare the monthly consolidation for Group SA
- Responsible for changes in the group’s structure
- Identify and analyze monthly results and trial balances
- Prepare general ledger reconciliations
- Prepare the Group’s monthly financial analysis and performance reports
- Ensure the Group’s compliance with IFRS
- Evaluate and apply new IFRS standards where appropriate
- Prepare technical accounting documents to support adopted positions
- Serve as the technical/IFRS center of excellence for the group
- Prepare and review annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and JSE listing requirements
- Prepare concise reports/documents for presentation to the audit committee
- Coordinate with external auditors
- Provide accurate information for external reporting purposes, e.g., investor presentations
- Prepare periodic cash flow forecasts
- Ensure the standard use of accounts across the Group to guarantee consistent accounting policies and usage
- Prepare the SA Group’s legal budget based on the operating budgets
- Ensure compliance with the South African Reserve Bank’s (SARB) reporting requirements
- Prepare quarterly surveys for the Reserve Bank and Stats SA
- Assist with corporate due diligence investigations
- Review purchase price allocations and prepare fixed asset valuations
- One-off projects
Requirements
- Chartered Accountant (South Africa) with 3 years of post-internship experience. • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS
- Relevant commercial experience (advantage)
- Experience in the private healthcare sector or similar (advantage)
- Knowledge and experience with SAP (advantage)
- Knowledge and experience with Onestream (advantage)
- Advanced Excel skills
