Position: Engineering Planner
Introduction

This position aims to ensure the proper maintenance of assets and the productivity of personnel by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through the planning and coordination of access for personnel, parts, and equipment. The selected candidate will report to the Engineering Manager.

Critical Results

CMMS Productivity:

Develop, monitor, and control a record of all plant equipment, including its technical details such as speed, model, supplier, etc.

Manage a work planning and control system that generates work orders, prioritizes them, assigns them to specific personnel, and tracks pending work.

Develop and maintain a scheduling system that schedules inspections or replacements at fixed intervals based on time or usage.

Develop and maintain a spare parts management system that plans, reserves, and supplies maintenance spares for tasks, and replenishes them in a timely manner.

Provide a record of special tools and their requirements.

Monitor and control a maintenance and history system that compiles the history of all failures and maintenance work for each piece of equipment (root cause analysis, incident investigation, near misses, Pareto analysis, etc.).

Develop an analysis and reporting system that analyzes and reports on various data sets.

Cost Control:

Assist the engineering manager in budget preparation, spending performance, and cost allocation (fixed vs. variable).

Supervise and control a cost system that records maintenance costs (labor, materials, and subcontractors) per job and per piece of equipment.

Collect quotes and invoices for project closeout financial documentation.

Negotiate with suppliers and contractors to obtain the best prices.

Project Management:

Analyze technical drawings and review material and cost estimates.

Understand and analyze contractual requirements.

Developing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and assisting in bid evaluation.

Monitoring and tracking project progress and preparing reports.

Ensuring the review and filing of closure documentation, as well as issuing the client acceptance letter.

Contractor Management:

Ensuring that documentation requirements for contractor management are developed and met (work permits, contractor records, service reports, certificates, etc.).

Ensuring that contractor safety files are up-to-date and complete.

Stakeholder Communication:

Ensuring the establishment of clear communication channels with all stakeholders in the engineering department.

Developing and distributing reports to all stakeholders in the engineering department.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensuring an organized and effective filing system.

Developing and maintaining a facility compliance record.

Lead the audit cycle and align it with the company’s legal accreditations.

Participate in the quarterly Health and Safety Committee meetings.

Fieldwork:

Assist technicians in preventive maintenance tasks to ensure that preventive work adheres to task lists, manufacturer guidelines, and legal regulations.

Serve as the Health and Safety representative.

Requirements

Desired Qualifications:

At least Level 6 qualification with a Certificate of Professional Competence in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (High Voltage). Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering operations or maintenance.

OR

National degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (High Voltage) or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering operations or maintenance.

Practical experience in a hospital or similar environment is essential.

Computer skills and experience with a CMMS system, preferably SAP PM, are an advantage.
