Position: Marketing and Communications Coordinator
Introduction
We are seeking a Marketing and Communications Coordinator for Life Wilgers Hospital in East Pretoria, who will report to the Hospital Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible for the strategic marketing of the hospital, its specialists, and services, as well as building strong relationships with stakeholders and the community. Brand management is fundamental to maintaining and enhancing brand value and trust, in addition to fostering positive relationships with stakeholders and the media. Effective channel marketing strategies aim to raise awareness of the brand, the hospital, and its services across various platforms, utilizing specialist, GP, community, and Emergency Department channels to drive ROI.
Key Results
Establish strong, productive, and proactive working relationships with key stakeholders, including general practitioners and specialists, the media, and the community, to ensure alignment with marketing and communications objectives.
Generate statistics and reports from available hospital data to analyze referral patterns and create a knowledge base to inform strategies and plans.
Recruit and promote specialists among general practitioners and the community to increase referrals.
Develop and implement marketing and communications strategies and plans (aligned with the hospital’s business plan) targeting key stakeholders to drive hospital growth.
Develop and implement marketing and communications initiatives targeting stakeholders, including patients, prospective patients, and the broader local community.
Provide marketing and communications support to internal hospital stakeholders, as well as the national marketing and communications department.
Contribute to the marketing and communications budget and manage the function efficiently within the allocated budget.
Develop informative and brand-aligned marketing materials (e.g., brochures, information leaflets, and other brand marketing materials) to support marketing and communication initiatives and build trust.
Ensure that brand and corporate identity standards, policies, and procedures are followed throughout the hospital in all marketing and communication matters.
Manage media relations in accordance with established corporate policy and guidelines.
Contribute to improving patient and customer service from a communication and marketing perspective.
Drive change and communicate effectively, on behalf of management, with all key stakeholders.
Develop and implement a channel marketing strategy to increase referrals and patient volume in the units.
Act as a brand ambassador within the unit to ensure brand compliance.
Monitor social media platforms and community groups for reputation management.
Requirements
University degree in marketing and communications with six years of relevant work experience.
Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, as productive relationships with stakeholders are important. Other required skills include strong technical skills in developing marketing and communications materials, attention to detail, excellent time management, the ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, and proficiency in computer tools (Word, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel, e.g., pivot tables).
Ability to gather and process relevant market research information and create related strategies to address the findings.
Ability to measure the impact of marketing initiatives using appropriate marketing indicators, results, and return on investment.
Experience in the hospital or healthcare sector in a marketing/communications role is a plus.
Demonstrable experience in copywriting is a plus.
Willingness to travel.
